Following
the success of the Grand
Santos Reprocessing project Fugro Multi Client
Services and GAIA are proud to announce the second
of our Brazilian reprocessing projects, Grand Campos
Basin Reprocessing, which consists of 17,885 kms of
post-stack reprocessed seismic data.
The project covers the Campos basin including the
deepwater parts and provides an approximate 20 x 20
km grid focusing on remaining open acreage with a
number of well ties to fields and exploration wells.
The Campos basin contains 80% of the discovered oil
in Brazil. The intermediate compartment between 100
– 1500 metres has been explored to a relatively mature
stage while the shallow water and the proximal compartment
down to 3500 metres remains rather unexplored. Good
remaining exploration potential exists in the shallow
water rift phase (lower Albian sandstones and carbonates)
and in the deepwater (Upper Cretaceous and Lower Eocene
turbidite sandstones). Proven reserves exceed 15 billion
barrels in this basin and there is good reason to
believe that a significant amount is yet to be found.
