Fugro
Multi Client Services, in conjunction with Greville
& Associates and Paradigm Geophysical, have completed
the seismic reprocessing of 11,690 kms of open file
data on the eastern flank of the Browse Basin. The
project is made up of 6,588 km of pre stack and 5,102
km of post stack reprocessing.
The area is centred on the recently relinquished WA-241-P
permit, which included the Cornea oil discovery. Due
to the recent Crux-1 and Dinichtys-1 gas/condensate
discoveries, industry interest has again focused on
this area. Crux and Dinichtys are just to the north
and west, with Cornea to the east. The project area
is therefore part of a now well-established hydrocarbon
province and is within the oil migration fairway to
the Cornea structure.
It is expected that the Federal Government will release
this area as part of the 2001 Gazettal package.
