The
Grand Canning Seismic reprocessing project has revealed
the presence of several seismic amplitude anomalies
in the Cretaceous and Jurassic sandstones. These are
possibly charged by hydrocarbons from the underlying
Palaeozoic sediments which have proven to be valid
oil-prone source rocks by the many onshore wells drilled
in the early 1980s.
