About Fugro Multi Client Services

The company was originally established in 1996 by Jan Ostby, Don Pyke and Odd Arne Larsen (called Seismic Australia) and was then acquired by the Fugro Group in July 2000. Fugro Multi Client Services (FMCS) provides oil companies with high definition, quality seismic data that can be interpreted over large basin wide areas. This involves acquiring new data or fully reprocessing data using techniques incorporating knowledge of the various basins and their prospectivity.

The data is the proprietary asset of FMCS and is available for licence by interested parties on a non-exclusive basis.

FMCS have reprocessed existing open-file seismic data and compiled these into large consistent Grand basin-wide data sets, known as FMCS's Grand Reprocessing Projects. Much of the data being reprocessed has not previously been recycled since the original exploration phase, almost 30 years ago.

We are primarily involved in offshore Oil & Gas exploration with the newest most extensive 2D reprocessed seismic database in Australia (350,000 kms) which along with nearly 30,000 kms of recently acquired 2D seismic data gives oil companies data over all the major basins offshore Australia.

In the year 2000 we expanded into Brazil and now have over 185,000kms of 2D reprocessed data and over 20,000 sq kms of 3D reprocessed data in offshore Brazil.

We also have seismic data available in Indonesia which consists of over 55,000 kms of reprocessed 2D data and 1,993 kms of acquired 2D data.

We have available for licence data in Norway.

As an independent operator, we have formed project alliances with some of the largest contractors in the world and have joint projects with such companies as Robertson Research Australia, Western Geophysical, GHD Gardline, Greville & Associates, Western Geco and Fugro-Geoteam.>

We are in a joint agreement with Western Geco to assist in the development, management and marketing of TQ3D surveys in Australia and have finalised the largest multi-client 3D survey ever acquired in Australia of some 12,750 sq kms in the Northern Browse region.
